Connect Website
Put checkout on your own website. No developer? Copy a product link and paste it into a button on your site.
This page shows you how to put checkout on your own website. Patients buy from your brand, and payment still runs through the platform. You do this after you add your first product.
No developer? You only need Model 1. Copy a product link. Paste it into a button on your website. That is it. Models 2 and 3, further down, are only for brands with a developer.
Before you start
Have these ready:
At least one live product (you copy its checkout link)
Your website builder login (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress, or any other)
Payments connected and demo mode off, if you want real money today
Who does what: You do this yourself. Your provider network (the medical team that employs the doctors) does not touch your website. GEN Health support can help with the developer options.
Time: About 10 minutes for Model 1. Models 2 and 3 need a developer and take days to weeks.
Model 1 — link to your checkout
This is the fast way, with no code. You copy a product's checkout link and paste it into a button. When a patient clicks that button, they land on your branded checkout page.
Copy your product's checkout link
In the left menu, click Products. Find the product you want to sell. Open its menu at the end of the row (the three dots). Choose the option to copy its checkout link. The link is now saved to your clipboard.
Paste the link into a button on your website
Go to your own website builder. Add a button, or pick a button you already have. Set where the button goes, and paste your checkout link there. Save and publish your site.
Test the button as a patient
Open your live website. Click the button. You should land on your branded checkout page. Do not share the link until this test works.
Demo mode blocks real payments. While your account is in demo mode, checkout links do not take real money. Turn demo mode off and connect payments first. Then share the link. To check, place a test order: if no card is ever charged, demo mode is still on. See Connect Payments.
Where to paste your link
Any website builder works. The idea is always the same. You add a button, then point that button at your checkout link. Here is where to paste it in the most common builders.
| Website builder | Where to paste the link |
|---|---|
| Wix | Add a Button. Open its settings. Set the link to a web address and paste your checkout link. |
| Squarespace | Add a Button block. Open its settings. Paste your checkout link as the button link. |
| WordPress | Add a Button block. Paste your checkout link into the link field. |
| Any other builder | Add a button or a link. Set where it goes to your checkout link. |
See where patients come from. You can add UTM tags to your link. UTM tags are small labels on a link that show which ad or email a patient came from. They are saved with the order, so you can see what is working.
Want more control? Two developer options
Model 1 works for most brands. If you have a developer, you can build a deeper connection. Both options are set up in Settings → Developers.
| Way to connect | What it does | Who it is for |
|---|---|---|
| 1 — Link out | A button on your site opens the platform checkout. No code. | You, today. No developer. |
| 2 — Full build | Your site shows every screen. Patients never see a platform page. It uses the client API. | Brands with a developer who wants full control. |
| 3 — Hosted checkout | Your site stays your brand. At payment, it hands off to the platform's ready-made checkout page. | Brands with a developer and a light backend. |
For Models 2 and 3, your developer creates keys in Settings → Developers. They will also find webhooks, a request log, and the API reference there. The Hosted checkout & SDK quick link covers Model 3.
Keep your secret key private. Your secret API key must stay on your server. Never put it in the browser. Only the publishable storefront key is safe to show on a web page. See API Keys.
You can start small and grow. Start with links today. If you build Model 2 or 3 later, your products and links still work. You lose nothing.
