Remove Providers
Deactivate a provider, reassign their patients, and revoke their access.
When a provider leaves your network, you deactivate their account — you don't delete it. Deactivating revokes their access and stops new work from routing to them, while their past charts and decisions stay on the record. Do it in the right order so no patient is left waiting. Who can do this: Provider Network Admins.
Open ProvidersBefore you deactivate
An inactive provider can't pick up work, so anything currently on their plate has to move first — otherwise it stalls.
Reassign open chart reviews
In the Review Queue, reassign any reviews assigned to the departing provider. Reassigning resets the provider-authored note while keeping the patient, order, and visit linkage intact.
Move upcoming sync visits
In Sync Visits, reassign or reschedule any upcoming visits booked with that provider so patients keep their appointments.
Unassign them from clients
In Assign Providers, remove the provider from the clients they covered so new orders route to someone active.
Deactivate after you've cleared their queue and calendar. Deactivating first leaves their in-flight reviews and visits stranded.
Deactivate the account
Open the provider
On the Providers page, open the provider you're offboarding.
Set them to inactive
Change their status to inactive. This goes through a logged, server-side update — their login and ability to claim work are revoked immediately.
Deactivation is reversible. Reactivate the same provider later and their history is intact — no need to recreate the account.
After deactivating
- Confirm no reviews or visits still point at them — see Review Queue and Sync Visits.
- If they prescribed through ScriptSure, their e-prescribing access follows the account status — see ScriptSure Setup.

Can I permanently delete a provider?
No — and you wouldn't want to. Their prior chart reviews, prescriptions, and visit records are part of the patient's medical history. Deactivating removes their access while preserving that record.
